How to Choose Matching Swimsuits for Couples
Choose each person’s cut and size first, then find the print that works on both.
- Pick the cuts each person will wear and check what comes in the set.
- Use the size chart to compare each cut with a similar garment that fits.
- Choose a shared print for two stand-alone suits, or connected artwork for two panels of one design.
- Check the front and back previews, then confirm the full price and delivery estimate.

Compare trunks, bikinis and one-pieces
Picture the day you’ll wear the suits. A bikini you can adjust at the sides may be what you want for a day by the pool. A scoop-neck one-piece covers more of the torso and gives a large print more room to show. If both of you usually wear trunks, you can match in trunks and still choose different sizes.
| Pairing | What’s included | Fit check |
|---|---|---|
| Trunks and a triangle bikini | Mid-length trunks, a triangle top and tie-side bottoms | The bikini top and bottom share one size. Check both parts of the chart. |
| Trunks and a scoop-neck one-piece | Mid-length trunks and a one-piece with more torso coverage | Compare front and side lengths as well as bust, waist and hip widths. |
| Two of the same cut | Two bikinis, two one-pieces or two pairs of trunks in a regular shared print | Choose sizes separately. Check the available trim or drawstring options for each wearer. |
If one person has stricter fit requirements, use their chart to narrow the styles before agreeing on a print. That’s especially useful when someone needs a particular torso length or falls into different sizes on a bikini top and bottom. Choose the garment that fits the measurements you care about.
Compare a shared print and connected artwork
| Design type | How the suits match | When to choose it |
|---|---|---|
| Shared print | The same motif repeats on both garments. | You want a visible match and suits you can also wear separately. |
| Connected artwork | Each garment has a different panel from one design. | You want the artwork to relate side by side, especially in a photo. Alignment varies with fit, stance and seams. |
Choose a shared print if you want both suits to stand on their own
In Aperitivo Hour, the same orange and blue sunbursts repeat across the trunks and the suit. The color and shapes do the matching. The waistband, bikini ties and one-piece neckline each frame a different part of the print. With a large motif, look at the front of each garment to see which parts land in the most visible areas. The same print will read differently across a triangle top and a one-piece.
Choose connected artwork if you want the pair to tell one story
Coral Static gives the two suits different crops of the same abstract artwork. Use the positions shown in the builder when you plan a photo. The pieces relate through the artwork and colors, and the alignment changes with stance, fit, waist height and the placement of seams.

For a quieter match, compare the overall balance of the two suits. A dark waistband or trim can give a bold print a visual edge, while a matching accent can carry the color from one suit to the other. Use the product preview to judge the combination at the scale you’ll actually wear.
Measure and size each swimsuit separately
Put a similar swimsuit you like on a flat surface and let the fabric rest. Use the same measurement points as the swimwear size and fit charts. A width measured across the front of a flat garment and the circumference around your body describe different things.
- Trunks. Compare the relaxed waist width and hip width with a pair that fits, then check the inseam and overall length. Use the guide for the exact trunks in the set.
- One-piece. Check the front or side length shown in the chart and the flat widths. If length is the problem in your current suit, use a better-fitting reference before deciding from the width alone.
- Bikini. Compare the cup height and bust width of the top and the front and back measurements of the bottoms. Adjustable ties change where the suit sits. The cup and fabric panels still have fixed dimensions for each size.
When two sizes look plausible, write down which measurement favors each size. If neither size suits both pieces of the bikini, consider a different cut. Save both people’s decisions with the style name beside each size so you can confirm them in the builder.
Choose for the trip and check the full price
For a long vacation, a shared print in two familiar cuts gives you pieces to mix into the rest of your packing. For a poolside photo, think about which motifs you can see from several feet away. For a honeymoon, decide whether you want a visible connection in one photo or two suits you’ll keep wearing on other trips. Our honeymoon swimwear edit shows examples of connected designs made for that decision.
Check what’s included before comparing two starting prices. A trunks and bikini set includes two people’s swimwear, with a top and bottom for the bikini wearer. Changing the garment mix or adding another person can change the price. In the order review, compare the complete total with delivery and check the currency. For a fixed departure date, use the delivery range for your address and the current made-to-order shipping and return terms before deciding.
Read both garment previews before paying
- Fit and finish. Open the front and back views of each swimsuit and verify the cut, size and trim.
- Shared print. Check where prominent motifs meet the waistband, side seam or edge of the suit.
- Connected artwork. Check which person has each panel and where the important details land on their garment.
The images on this page are styled previews. The garment views in the builder help you check the chosen design and finish. Fabric color, fit and seam placement can vary on a finished garment. Give each person a chance to review their own suit before you approve the set.
Browse matching swimsuit sets for twoCommon questions
Can we use a photo or illustration we already have?
Yes. Upload artwork you have permission to use in the custom swimwear studio. Give important details some space around the edges and check the crop on both cuts.
Can we swap who wears each panel of a connected set?
Look at the artwork assigned to each position in the builder before choosing the cut and size. If you want to exchange the two looks, assign each person the position with the panel they want and confirm the two previews again.
Does matching swimwear have to look identical?
A shared color, print or artwork can connect two different cuts. If you want the connection to be obvious in a photo, choose a recognizable motif or use a connected set and stand in the order shown by the builder.
Can we save our choices and finish later?
Yes. Return to the saved design or cart on the same browser and device. The store saves those selections in your browser, so keep that browser available until the set is approved.
